Building projects aren’t just for adults; kids love to work with their hands and create things. Not only are building projects fun, but they help kids learn new skills and gain a feeling of accomplishment.

Kids love to make things. Building something with your children teaches basic skills for planning, measuring, and the use of tools. It also puts you in a position to learn and grow together by virtue of working together on something. It’s a great bonding experience.

As long as your children are old enough to follow simple instructions, you can help them build something they can be proud of.

Safety

Before starting any building project with your child, you should think about safety. Keep the age of your child in mind when deciding which things they can help with. A young child can help sand, while an older child may be able to use a hand saw with plenty of supervision. Make sure all of the supplies you use are non-toxic and your child wears proper safety gear such as safety goggles and work gloves.
