That’s a lot of H2O! Most people do not get enough water during the day to sustain a healthy functioning body. Staying hydrated is a must for maintaining energy levels, burning fat, enhancing your metabolism, detoxifying your body, transporting nutrients to your cells, and mental alertness. Dehydration is the biggest cause of memory loss and fatigue, and causes cholesterol to stick to and build up on your arterial walls, increasing the risk of heart disease.

Many times when we are thirsty we eat food rather than drink water. This can cause unnecessary weight gain, especially for a sedentary person. When your body is dehydrated,  sometimes it won’t tell you with a dry throat or mouth, but rather with a feeling of being hungry.

When you drink enough water throughout the day you’re feeding the tissues and cells in your body, which actually releases fat toxins out of the body! And remember, by the time you get thirsty, you are already 2-3% dehydrated and your energy is depleted by 20-30%. You will know you are properly hydrated if your urine is clear at least once a day.
